ABOUT:
Melanie represents governmental and private clients in all areas of civil litigation, with a focus on employment defense litigation and Human Resources compliance, consultation, and training, with respect to state and federal employment laws and regulations.  Melanie has experience representing employer clients from the initial claim with the EEOC/FCHR all the way through jury trials and appellate disposition thereof in all manner of employment-related claims, including Chapter 760, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, whistleblower retaliation claims, drafting and enforcement/defense of non-compete agreements, and constitutional claims arising out of employment disputes.

Melanie additionally has experience representing both public and private entities in all aspects of civil law, including administrative and regulatory law, personal injury and other tort defense, real property and foreclosure claims and litigation, general business and contract disputes, state and federal appellate advocacy, and working with business clients to form entities and obtain tax exempt status from the IRS. Melanie also represents clients involved in family law disputes.

Melanie is an avid triathlete, FSU sports fan (despite her undergraduate institution), and lover of the outdoors.  She strives to impart all of those passions upon her young daughter, Fiona.
